As an avid reader, I love to discover new books and am always looking for book recommendations. I had a few encounters recently that made me ponder reading and community. I was reading a book at a dental appointment for my daughter. The hygienist commented that she loved the book and gave me a few recommendations for future reading. Later in the week, I was at a physical therapy appointment reading the same book. The physical therapist also told me she loved the book and recommended another one.
Not only did I enjoy reading the books these women recommended, but it got me thinking about reading and how it connects people. I saw the physical therapist the next week and she was excited to hear what I thought of the book she recommended. We had a lovely discussion with a few people in the office about reading.
I love reading physical books, but for convenience I also listen to audio books and read eBooks. I don’t think I would have had those conversations if I was listening to my book or reading it on Kindle. That’s something to consider in the future.
Conversations about books with good friends and family continually spark inspiration for my reading list. Another source of reading recommendations is in Instagram. I love to see what other writers and influencers are reading. There are so many ways to find new books to read. Don’t forget your all the resources around you.
